Preparing for your Thai Massage Treatment
Preparing for your Treatment
To maximise the benefits of the therapy please drink plenty of water for the 2 days leading up to your appointment to hydrate your muscles and tissues. We recommend 1.5 - 2 litres a day, if you can.
On the day of your Appointment
Please avoid eating a heavy meal for at least 2 hours before your Traditional or Table Thai appointment.
At your first appointment the practitioner will complete a comprehensive health and lifestyle consultation and on subsequent visits you will be asked for feedback on the effects of your treatment and for an update on your health and any medical conditions.
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing without zips. A long sleeved t-shirt and leggings, yoga or tracksuit trousers are ideal, but not jeans or shorts please. For your comfort, we will ask you to remove your jewelry, watch and any belongings from your pockets.
It is important that you stay warm both during and after your treatment. Please bring a jumper or sweatshirt to wear if necessary (blankets are available if you prefer), and a further layer of clothing for your homeward journey.
If you are receiving your treatment at home, we recommend you turn down phones and mobiles and let anyone likely to distract you know that you are taking some well deserved time out for yourself so that you can relax and enjoy your massage without disturbance.
After Treatment
Take time to rest, keep warm and continue to drink plenty of water to flush out the toxins released by the acupressure and stretches.
